# Sequential Minting

{% hint style="info" %}
Minting Types are compatible with Placeholder. For instance, you can use Sequential Minting along with Placeholder to temporarily hide and reveal the metadata later.
{% endhint %}

Using this minting type, NFTs are minted sequentially from the first to the last one until the collection is sold out. This is basic yet powerful and the most common way of minting.

It is **commonly combined with** [**placeholders**](/docs/features/placeholder-delayed-reveal.md) to hide/delay the actual metadata.
